Where is Cabo?
Cabo San Lucas sits at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula. The wider region is called "Los Cabos" and includes:
- Cabo San Lucas
- San José del Cabo
- The Tourist Corridor (the highway between them)
Most first-time visitors stay in Cabo San Lucas itself for the marina, restaurants, nightlife, and easy access to the major activities.
Flying into Cabo
Visitors arrive through Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). The airport is approximately 30–45 minutes from Cabo San Lucas depending on traffic.
Getting from the airport
Private transportation
Most comfortable, and usually fastest. Worth it after a long flight.
Shared shuttles
Budget-friendly for solo travelers and couples.
Rental cars
Ideal if you're planning to explore the region extensively or stay long-term.
Pre-arranged transfers
Recommended for convenience. We can arrange a transfer for any Terrasol Elite booking, just ask.
Currency in Cabo
Mexico uses the Mexican Peso. However, U.S. dollars are widely accepted throughout Cabo. Most restaurants, excursions, and shops accept credit cards, debit cards, and cash.
Carrying some pesos is helpful for small purchases, local taquerías, and tipping.
Do you need to speak Spanish?
No. English is widely spoken in Cabo, especially in tourist areas, hotels, restaurants, and on excursions. Learning a few Spanish phrases is always appreciated, but not required.
Is Cabo safe?
Cabo is considered one of Mexico's most popular and tourist-friendly destinations. Millions of visitors safely enjoy Cabo every year. Like any travel destination, common sense applies:
- Stay aware of your surroundings
- Use reputable transportation
- Secure valuables
- Follow common-sense travel precautions
Terrasol Beach Resort itself is a gated community with 24/7 on-site security.
What is the weather like?
One of Cabo's biggest advantages is that the sun shows up almost every day of the year.
Winter (December–February)
70–80°F. Perfect weather.
Spring (March–May)
75–90°F. Warm and sunny.
Summer (June–September)
85–100°F. Hot and beach-friendly.
Fall (October–November)
Excellent weather and fewer crowds.
Can you swim at every beach?

Always pay attention to local warnings and posted beach flags before entering the water.
