27 of the best, sunset cliffsides, marina-walkable seafood, downtown Mexican classics, hidden gems, and the spots worth the drive to San José.
Cabo has more restaurants than any one person can usefully recommend. Marina blocks full of seafood places. Cliff-cut rooms where the sunset costs as much as the entrée. Downtown alleys hiding the actual Mexican kitchens that locals eat at. Farm-to-table destinations 30 minutes away in San José.
This is the list we actually send Terrasol guests to. 27 restaurants, every one tested, organized so you can pick what kind of night you're trying to have. Each one's been tagged with a vibe, a neighborhood, a price level, and the kind of trip it pairs with.
A note before you start scrolling: reservations matter in Cabo. Especially at the cliff sunset restaurants and for any fine-dining seat between December and April. Book a week out in low season, two weeks out in peak. When you book direct with us, Monica and Lorraine can help arrange reservations and call ahead to make sure you get the right table.

For the night that has to be the night. Photos optional, jaws on the floor mandatory.
Built directly into the cliffside at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, the neighboring resort, on the same Pacific beach as Terrasol. The Pacific crashes 100 feet below your table. The catch comes off the boat that morning and you pick yours from an iced display. A separate Champagne & Oyster Terrace runs before dinner. Reservations book 2+ weeks out for sunset in peak season.
The single most photographed sunset restaurant in Cabo. Terraced into the rocks above the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific, with multi-level outdoor seating that wraps the cliff. The menu is Italian-Mediterranean. The food is very good. But you're really paying for the view, and at sunset, the view is the meal. Arrive 45 minutes before sunset.
Sunset views of Land's End and El Arco from the deck. Beautifully presented elevated Mexican cuisine and a handcrafted cocktail program. Less expensive than the cliff restaurants, more accessible, and the food holds its own. A reliable pick when the marquee spots are booked.
The 10-minute walk to the Marina opens up most of the city's best restaurants. No car, no Uber, no parking math.
A Cabo classic that has been doing the same thing for decades and still gets it right. Live Maine lobsters in the tank by the entrance, white tablecloths, marina-front view. Order the lobster, that's the whole point. Easy walk back to Terrasol after.
A long-standing Cabo favorite, marina-front, with a casual lively atmosphere. Fresh fish, shrimp specialties, and good ceviche. The kind of place where you watch yachts pull in while you eat. Not the most romantic of the list, but if "date night" for you means a fun, easy dinner before drinks elsewhere, this is exactly that.
A romantic open-air courtyard a few blocks back from the Marina. Famous for table-side Caesar salad (yes, the show earns it), local seafood, and a quietly-special atmosphere. Less photo-shoot than the cliff places, more "this is where you go when you want a great meal in a great room." A classic Cabo institution.
Cabo's most famous sushi restaurant, and widely considered one of the best in Mexico. Founded by chef Angel Carbajal, it's a Japanese-Baja fusion that makes use of the best local fish. Sit at the omakase bar if you can. Splurge on the toro. Reservations a week out, two in peak season.
A marina institution combining good food with Cabo's famous fishing culture. Great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Casual, kid-friendly, reliable. The kind of place you stop in once and end up coming back to twice.
A no-frills Cabo classic that has cult status among return visitors. Shrimp every way you can think of, generous portions, casual atmosphere. Cash-friendly, fast service, and one of the best price-to-quality ratios in town.
A favorite for cocktails, fresh seafood, and sunset views. One of the better spots to ease into the evening after a beach day. Strong drink program, beautifully presented small plates, and a relaxed atmosphere.
A few blocks back from the Marina, the city changes. These are the rooms locals still go to.
A Cabo institution since the early '90s. Bright, painted-mural courtyard right off the main downtown plaza. Live mariachi some nights. The food is solid traditional Mexican, molcajete, fajitas, chiles en nogada in season. Touristy in the best sense: been around long enough to know what it's doing.
An intimate Italian spot that's been a Cabo classic for years. Handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza, candlelit atmosphere, and a wine list that respects the room. The obvious pick for date night when you want something other than Mexican or seafood.
Famous for its tequila collection, hundreds of bottles displayed behind the bar, and reliable traditional Mexican food. A great spot for a tequila tasting with dinner. The atmosphere is colorful, fun, and unapologetically Mexican.
The Cabo outpost of the international Bagatelle brand. French-Mediterranean menu, champagne-soaked atmosphere, and a famous day-into-night party scene. Less subtle than Edith's or Nick-San but if you want energy and a scene, this is where to find it.
Sammy Hagar's Cabo institution. More legendary for the live music and atmosphere than for the food, but the food is solid Mexican-American and the energy is unmatched. Plan on it being loud, fun, and probably louder than that.
San José del Cabo is 30 minutes from Terrasol. These three are why people make the trip.
Ten acres of working organic farm in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna. The restaurant grows almost everything on the menu, raises its own chickens, and bakes its own bread. Open-air dining under string lights, with live music and a culinary garden you can walk through. One of the most-photographed restaurants in Mexico, and one of the best.
Built into a jungle canopy with treehouse-style elevated dining. Modern Mexican menu, exceptional cocktails, and an atmosphere that feels like a movie set. A short drive past Flora Farms, often paired with it as a "two-day San José" trip.
In the heart of San José's art district. Elevated takes on traditional tacos, a deep mezcal program, and live music most nights. A great pair with a Thursday-night Art Walk if your trip falls in season.
For the daytime, the long lunch, and the night when getting dressed up isn't happening.
Cabo's most famous beach restaurant. Right on the sand at Medano Beach, with live music, a party atmosphere, and reliable beach food. More about the experience than the cuisine, but the experience is genuinely fun.
The original Medano Beach institution, founded in 1986. Toes-in-the-sand dining, breakfast through dinner, with the kind of relaxed pace that defines a Cabo morning. Famous for its huevos rancheros and its sunset margaritas.
A creative Asian-inspired spot offering noodles, dumplings, and inventive cocktails. A great change of pace from seafood and Mexican. Lively atmosphere, particularly fun for groups and families.
Beautifully presented modern seafood with strong beach-house energy. The seafood platters and fresh catches are especially impressive. One of the newer Cabo restaurants but already on most regulars' lists.
A fantastic breakfast and brunch spot known for fresh ingredients, quality coffee, and Mediterranean-leaning morning food. The wine bar makes it equally good for early evenings.
Legendary. Possibly the most famous taquería in Cabo San Lucas. Famous for fish tacos and shrimp tacos with a make-your-own salsa bar. No-frills counter service. Often a 10-minute wait at lunch. Always worth it.
Cliffside oceanfront, ocean-to-table, champagne terrace. The most romantic restaurant within walking distance of Terrasol.
The most-photographed sunset in Cabo. Multi-level cliff terraces. Reserve 2 weeks ahead in peak season.
Worth the 30-minute drive to San José. Farm-to-table, open-air, lit by string lights. The single most memorable meal you'll have in Baja.
One of Mexico's best sushi restaurants. Sit at the bar if you can. The toro is the splurge.
Family-owned, garden courtyard, traditional regional Mexican. The food-and-conversation dinner.
Great food under $20/person. Walking-distance from the Marina. The "we don't feel like getting dressed up" lunch.
Both kid-friendly, both walkable from Terrasol, both reliable. Captain Tony's is more casual; Mi Casa is more festive.
By a wide margin. Most other Cabo restaurants can accommodate but Flora is the only one designed for it. More vegan options →
In peak season (December–April), the marquee restaurants book 1–2 weeks out. Sunset slots at El Farallon and Sunset Mona Lisa go even faster. If a specific restaurant matters to your trip, reserve it before you arrive, not the day of.
Cabo runs on tips. 15% is standard, 20% for great service. Tips in cash are appreciated and reach servers faster than card tips. Most restaurants accept USD but you'll get a better effective rate paying in pesos.
